Quick Chickpea Curry

1/2 lb. lean ground beef
1/2 yellow onion
3 cloves garlic
1 tbsp. vegetable oil
1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper
1 tsp. turmeric
1 tsp. paprika
1 tbsp. ground cumin
1 tbsp. ground coriander
2 tsp. garam masala
2 tsp. curry powder
14 oz. can chickpeas (garbanzo beans), drained
14 oz. can peeled and diced tomatoes
1/2 cup dried cranberries (or raisins, if cranberries aren't available)
Slice the onion finely, and crush the garlic. Brown the beef, onion, and garlic in the oil. Add the cayenne, turmeric, paprika, cumin, coriander, garam masala, and curry powder. Stir over heat for 5 minutes. Add the chickpeas and tomatoes with retained juice, stirring to combine. Simmer for 10 minutes, add cranberries (or raisins), and serve.
